Hi, I recently replaced my GoPro Hero4 Silver’s front LCD and I may have messed something up. My camera no longer records any audio with or without an external microphone. I’m not sure what could be broken or what I disconnected, any help would be great! Thank you.
I’m not at work however I believe the mic is in the top of the rear shell. When I get in tomorrow I will confirm this. There is the three flex cables that go to the board.. Check them, they can be tricky to keep in place during reassembly.
Hello @laurence Okay so from looking at the pictures, I do not see why 1 thing would affect the other. And what is getting me is that it also wont use any external devices. So my guess would be that there may be some small damage to the main chip itself. What you can also try is replacing the OLD LCD and see if it works then. This also may not work :/ Sorry to say, Keegan
Hello. I have sort of the same problem. After i lost the GoPro to the ground, the sound will not be recorded. It beeps when i start recording and when i turn the camera on, but no sound when i replay the clips. Do you think this can be fixed by replacing the speaker with an new one? I have not tried with an external microphone yet.
I have the same issue, can someone insicate in the picture where the mic should be connected to the motherboard?? If the issue is not the connection, what can it be? the motherboard itself? Thanks! :)
