i recently noticed that when i lightly apply pressure to the middle of the keyboard, the screen goes all wonky, colorful boxes appear and then i get a BSOD. the weird thing is, the BSOD doesn’t have those graphical glitches. if i boot into my ubuntu installation, i don’t get the colorful boxes, but the screen kinda “shifts” something that those CRT TVs had, like this:
i have a pretty big suspicion that the motherboard or the gpu itself is damaged, but i want to get a second opinion on this matter, as im not an expert. thanks! :) edit: weirdly enough, i noticed that there are no graphical glitches in the GRUB bootloader
Hi @richiie, Try connecting an external monitor to the laptop and check what happens to its display when applying pressure to the keyboard. Can you isolate it to exactly where you’re applying pressure? This may be good to know if you open the laptop and check what is on the motherboard directly below where you’re pressing. What is the model number of the laptop?
