Anyone has a guide to replace the LCD’s CCFL backlight tube in HP Compaq 6820 or 6830s ?
Hi @johnloh , Not a guide as such but perhaps some helpful information. Here’s the maintenance and service guide for a 6830s. Go to p.55 to view the necessary pre-requisite steps and then the procedure to remove the display panel. Have you checked that the inverter is not the problem rather than the CCFL tube as the symptoms can be the same? If it is determined that the inverter is the problem , search online for 490326-001 to find suppliers. Here’s a video that may be of some help when going to change the CCFL tube Here’s a link to just one supplier. It is only to give an idea of the cost of the part. Hopefully a start.
