Hello Everyone, I cracked the screen on my iPad mini and tried fixing it myself. I first tried replacing only the glass screen, and the right side wasn’t working when I try touching it, which is where the crack was on the old screen. So I figured maybe the LCD screen doesn’t work, so I just replaced that too, and the right side doesn’t work still. It shows all the apps and stuff, but gives no touch response. Anyone know why it would do this? I followed step by step instructions perfectly to try and get it right. Could it be a bad digitizer, or would this happen if it got bent at all maybe? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Honestly i’m 99.9% confident it is a bad digitizer. You should not have had to replace your lcd though because that has nothing to do with your “touch response.” Hopefully you can get a refund, if you need more consulting you may check this out. https://goo.gl/D8uvtn

You didn’t need a new LCD as long as the LCD displays an image it’s fine. The problem is your digitizer, the digitizer can be lifted or tipped up from the frame of the iPad and the touch screen will still work. Also make sure your using kapton tape on the bottom of the screen, or you will have ghost touching. Most important with the iPad mini is don’t use a cheap screen with silver edges it should have cooper!

I’d go with bad digitizer. However, look in the digitizer socket on the board to make sure no pins were pulled out of the socket as this does happen sometimes.
