My iphone 7 plus housing was all beaten up and before selling it I thought I’d swap it out (big mistake). I carefully swapped all the components into the new housing and when I powered it up I’m stuck in a boot loop. hangs on apple logo for approx. 1 min and then appears to reset and repeat. itunes will not detect it, even when I get it into DFU mode. Just plugged it into smart wall plug and it is not drawing any power so clearly isn’t charging. Soon the battery will be dead. I get no vibrating feedback from pressing the home button. I’m assuming I have either not put something back together properly (but I have triple checked everything) or I’ve damaged something in the process of disassembling and reassembling. I did tear a bit of a hole in the black material wrapping the battery… and it has that nasty chemically gluey smell. I know this isn’t ideal but I figured it wouldn’t be the cause of this problem…? Also the tape snapped so I had to pry it out which did involve bending it a bit Any ideas on how I can diagnose the problem?
I would recommend getting a new battery for the phone and testing that, seems like the most likely cause. also make sure that the charge port connector is connected properly, if your using an aftermarket charge port that came with your casing they can pop out of the connector very easily.
