After charging overnight, upon opening received question mark on folder warning. Took to Apple. Was told laptop can’t detect hard drive. $600 fix but all data would be lost. $900 min to retrieve data. How did this happen? More importantly, any miracle options? Thanks!
To retrieve data, just pull the drive off and connect to an external enclosure. If the drive is fine, I don’t see how it would cost $900. If the drive is toast then the board should mostly be fine, replacing the drive won’t cost you $600 either.
