After successful lcd refurbish we go to install the lcd on the original device. This is ok up until the heat shield installation and subsequent full installation of the screen. It seems to work fine when it is out of the phone but once set in place there seems to be a “dead” spot right down the middle. we can only suggest that the ribbon cable gets pressure from a push, or twisted from installing - has anyone got any tips how to install the metal heat shield as we thin this is causing the issue? The touch will not work until the device has been locked and unlocked again. thank you
U need to make sure the big grey chip is in the correct spot. Push the flex cables with the phone slightly open with the bottom of ur tweezers so the flex folds inwards… if the patch is down the middle vertically then it might be a swollen battery as it’s an LCD refurbish it might also be the oca ur using or the glass being too thick etc, lots of different factors Make sure the rim of the housing is clean no lumpy left over adhesive and when u push the screen in push it upwards firmly first and then equally down on both sides working downwards, important part pushing it hard as u can into the top corners…
do you bend the flex`s out straight when refurbishing? this used to cause me issues as they are so fragile, best to keep them formed with the bend whilst refurbing.
