I’m thinking about getting the base model MacBook Pro 2017 from b and h ($ 200 off and no tax). I’m gonna put a keyboard cover on it to prevent dust from getting underneath the keys. Should this fix the keyboard issue …? I know the new macs are coming out soon, but I do not want to spend ~ $ 300 for more. Is the b and h worth it? Will a keyboard cover solve my problems? Am I royally screwing up the trigger on this deal? Sorry for the stupid questions, I’m just a nervous buyer. Have not owned a Mac since 2008. (hidden)
First of all, I used to won this MacBook and I was a very unhappy customer. I ended up returning it for the following reasons… This MacBook uses lame USB-C and only has one USB-C port, one!Of course, the butterfly keyboard. It feels like you are typing on glass which makes typing very uncomfortable. The less-then-adequete cooling shortens the life of this machine too. I ended up getting a 2015 MacBook Pro instead and I am a very happy owner of that one because… Ports! Yes, ports! HDMI, Thunderbolt, SD Card, MagSafe, headphone jack.Non butterfly keyboard that is comfortable to type onAdequate cooling TL;DR: Don’t waste your money on a computer you will likely return. Get a 2015 MBP instead.
