Has anyone tried swapping out the mbp 2012 13” keyboard for the mbp “13 2016 touchbar keyboard? I wanta know if it’ll work
The 2012 13” & 15” keyboards where the pinnacle of design and function! Sadly, Apple went to the delicate Butterfly design which has tons of issues from the better Scissor design! The MacBook Pro’s from 2016 onwards to 2019 all have the Butterfly. The first throw back to the older design (now called the Magic Keyboard) was the 2019 16” model within a year all of the Macbook Air and Pro’s were using the better Scissor design Sorry, you can’t swap out the Butterfly for the better Scissor as the frame and dimensions are very different as well as the means of mounting (screws in the older and now rivets on all of the newer ones)
