Hi there and thank you for taking a look at my question. My Volume up key has been playing up recently in that I have to put a lot of pressure on it for anything to happen. I removed the key and gave it a quick clean but it doesn’t seem to do much. Has anybody else experienced this before and managed to fix it?

Lets try this open your System Preferences under the Apple Icon, Open the Sound control panel, click on the Output tab at the bottom you should see the Output Volume slider. Now are you able to click on the Fn 10 & 11 keys getting the pointer to move side to side with normal pressure? If not then your keyboard button has failed and you’ll need to replace it.
