Everytime I want to use my washer i have to unplug it then plug it back in works fine while going through cycles but when it sits off for more than 60 seconds I have to unplug it again please help its older Kenmore elite front load not he3
Unfortunately this is usually the main control board with gets reset when you unplug it.
So, I found another post that had some troubleshooting tips. I am trying to find it again but here is what I can remember. My washer completes the whole cycle and I think option 1 fixed mine Try pushing the Start button in various spots. The example given was north, south, east, and west. The Start button itself could be the cause. This button is part of the User Interface board or something similar. There is a relay that gets stuck on one of the boards. Try smacking the top left area of the washer and if it comes on that relay is likely sticky. I will I’ll try to find the post again. John
I also have this problem with my Kenmore front washer Model 796.40147900 I have to unplug it and then plug it back in and it works fine, until you go to use it again. Strangely enough if the washer won’t start and I press the Power button on the matching dryer to dry some cloths, the washer powers up and plays the power startup tune . I kid you not, it’s happened quite a few times. ( try figuring how that happens) Thanks for all the previous answers , I’m checking them out. Patrick 666 May 19 2022
