hi, i have a problem with my zenfone the screen has some weird lines going down, what connector should i try disconnecti and reconnect to get it to work properly (the phone have been wet)
the problem is probably oxidation(rust) due to the water damage the best is to put the mother board in a ultrasonic cleaner in order to remover and stop rust from spreading BTW the connector you are looking to is the LCD connector (since you can not put the whole lcd in liquid you will have to clean it manually whit an esd safe brush)
I got the same problem, while trying to fix it changed the recently updated ZenUI Launcher with the Google Launcher to give it a try and now i only get the lines in the unlock screen and in the Asus Gallery not the Google photo gallery, i think the problem lies within the las OS update i received last week.
Hello! Experienced flashing of lcd and rainbows on 70% below of screen while the upper 30% is normal. Just tried clearing cache of zenUI Launcher. Hope this helps

during booting it is hanging, even though so many time switch off & on the set Update (11/03/2016) during booting it is hanging, even though so many time switch off & on the set Update (11/03/2016) no, ur answer is not acceptable by me, as it is happening 03-04 times with me and every time I go to asus care where they did software loading and then it is functioning.
This problem is being caused by some loose gap on the back of the screen, to solve this problem, you need to make sure the screen is well secured. To do so, just open the back cover and unscrew the battery cover, then stick some very thin foam over ( & around the edge of the motherboard ), make sure these are not covering the camera, volume button etc .. then screw back the cover gently. This should solve the problem!… if still not fixed fully stick some of the same thin foam under battery which isolates the battery from the screen and fixes the screen and problem should go away!
Hi, If it has been wet most likely that screen or board is damaged! However the screen connection has two leads to the mainboard . On is for LCD and other is for digitizer touch glass. When you open the back cover The LCD connector is on the far left coonector just above the battery and digitizer has a very small lead fuether up on left connected under metal cover. You need to lift the metal cover carefully and lift thr connecor latch and the pull the small flat cable. Be carefull this can be damaged if try it hard. Hope this help
