The rear camera lens on my iPhone 6S is cracked, and now when opening the camera app there is a hazy picture and also a black dot in one of the corners. I’m considering trying to repair it myself though am not certain if I need to buy just a replacement lens or a replacement rear camera as well. Is there is a way of telling whether it is just the lens that is damaged or whether the camera is damaged too? Thanks in advance for any advice.
Because of iFixit’s wonderful return policy, I would buy both the lens and the iSight camera. I would try replacing just the lens first and if the image is not any better I would then replace the iSight camera. If the iSight camera is not needed you can return it easily and without a hassle (the only reason why I am reccomending you get both the lens and iSight camera!). iSight camera replacement Lens replacement (works with the 6S too) iSight camera replacement guide Lens replacement guide
