Guys I have a? I have a ps4 and the hdmi port went out and the picture would go in and out on my TV, but if the hdmi IP chip went out would the picture still come in and out on the TV, I had this Tec guy work on my ps4 and he said that he fixed the hdmi port but it won’t do anything on the TV, but the picture would go in and out befor he messed with it
Hey, Amos. If the only thing he messed with was the port and it came back to you worse than when you sent it in, I would suspect he didn’t do a great job with the HDMI port. They are very tedious to do and if done wrong it can lift the traces right out of the board. I’ve seen just as many botched HDMI port attempts as I have seen bad HDMI ports. However, my suspicion is based on the fact that you said it would work intermittently before and that the port is what he tried to fix. The HDMI encoder IC or the filters in between could also cause no image issues. If you feel comfortable taking your PS4 apart, post some pictures of where the HDMI port is soldered to the board. Maybe someone would be able to tell if the port is making good connections. I hope this was helpful and that you get your PS4 fixed soon!
