Hey everyone, My macbook air has had a piece of my headphone stuck in it for 2 weeks now. I first tried to get it out with tweezers and pliers, which pushed it in further. I tried the pen tube with super glue, then a q-tip with a hole groove filled with super glue and it didn’t work. It stuck to the piece of the headphone but never pulled the piece out, which left a residue now even harder to retrieve due to the residue. I tried a push pin bent into a hook, and it didn’t do anything either. Now, my final question before having to take it into Mac Medics…I saw this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YdFZGMqO… if I get that Pentalobe screwdriver and take the back of the Macbook Air off, will I be able to get to the headphone jack area to force the broken piece out? Thanks
Well that vid won’t help you, instead follow this guide MacBook Air 13" Mid 2012 I/O Board Replacement to get the I/O board out which is where the headphone jack is located. You could try pushing the stuck part out by carefully drilling a small hole in the back side to feed a small paperclip wire into it. Or, just replace it as the glue may have damaged it MacBook Air 13" (Mid 2012) I/O Board
