Help! My earbuds are very expensive and suddenly while I was using them the sound got dramatically smaller so I checked what was going on. The headphone jack was bent (probably because my laptop was on my lap and maybe I was putting pressure on it? not really sure why it was bent) so I tried bending it back into place but there was still no sound. When I bent it back into place, I started adjusting it to see if it would somehow work but it completely broke off. Now I am left the cord, the thing that the headphone jack used to be in, and the headphone jack. I don’t have any tools but I can get a new headphone jack. Is there any way that I can fix it? These earbuds are really expensive. Update (12/30/2016) This is what it looks like:

It depends on the type. Can you post a picture of the wire and the part that broke off?

unfortunately, the only way to fix it, is to splice them into another jack. this is very difficult, as most headphones are now CoAxial, and cause a lage sum of hassle for the technician doing them. most payed technicians would charge around 125$CAD for that type of repair.
