Chosen Solution

Hello you Guys I work at repair shop in belgium and i have A strange problem that i accure , Today A client came in our store and asks me about a problem with audio lightning earbuds, when he plugs it in the phone it just keeps playing the sound trough speaker. I gave him a new one and it worked , Now i was trying to use it with my phone and it did not work either i tried the one on reserves also the same problem… I tried the originals at home and also did not work anymore, but when i put them in an iphone 5 its working fine… I try to remove the dust inside, Reset settings Updates ios to 11.1.x and still not working.. I plug it to charge and all works fine.. Now i am the one that feels pretty desperated since my client came in our store Does anyone know what i can do , before replacing my dock connector..

You seemed to check off the right boxes: You restarted the phoneYou cleaned the dock connectorYou used a different set of headphones. You updated the software A wild Bluetooth connection isn’t a problem since I understood sound is coming from the actual speakers on the phone. This isn’t a problem while your on a phone call either, right? So it’s not the Airplay settings causing problems. I would think carefully before deciding to fix it. It could very well be a software problem and have nothing to do with the hardware. Here is a link to a non-technical article that you can share with your customer while you confirm it is the case. I don’t have any personal experience with this problem. Hopefully this article will help him understand it’s not you, it’s Apple. I’m sure someone else with more experience will have a better answer.
