The heat intake of my dryer is discoloured and getting really hot. I know it should be hot but I believe the discolouration means that it is excessive? I’ve checked and cleaned everywhere. Is this a problem?
Hi @fritz87 , What is the model number of the dryer? You might want to check the hi limit thermostat to make sure that it is OK and turning off the heater at the correct temp. Also check that the exhaust vent is clear and unobstructed allowing the heat to escape from the dryer Search online for Maytag (insert model number) parts find suppliers that have parts diagrams that show the dryer parts and their location.
