Around 4 days back, my MacBook Pro (a1502) dropped from a chair (2-feet high). Since then, it has been working properly, no issues. Yesterday, I was working on it and suddenly the display went blank / black. The computer is still working (startup chime, keyboard lights up etc.)Connected the laptop to an external monitor - the computer is full usable with an external monitorTried some of the tests people have suggested: Held the apple logo against bright light - the display is Black (I don’t see any light).I did try Cmd R, PRAM and NVRAM setups - no luckI opened the back cover, and there is a cable that can be disconnected. I followed this How to Fix Dropped Macbook Pro Black Screen - no luck Is there anything else I can try to make sure that it is not some loose connection.

Sadly, it does sound like your display got the worse of it. Let’s do a bit more testing, aim a flashlight though the lids Apple Logo do you see the faint image of your desktop and its icons? If you do then the backlight logic needs repairs, other wise the LCD panel is broken and you’ll need to replace the display assembly. This series is still highly sought! Here’s one source for the needed part 13” MacBook Pro Display Assembly Here you can see there are a few options for the part new to used from Grade-A to Grade-C each at different costs.
