g’day, hoping someone one can help me out , i woke up one morning and opened my mac-book air and it powered on but the display was a very dim / dark green color , i thought maybe i should plug it into the power supply but when i do it just stays orange and the battery percentage never raises , however i can use with an external display throught the hdmi Cable and its all good, ive ordered an ne I/O board to see if it fixes the supply problem , but im open to advice … Update the screen is a bit brighter today , not much but enough so i can log in easy and under the right lights ( works fluros) i can us the lap top easy , However , the mag-end of the charger is red hot , the light on it is also more of a Red than an Orange … thoughts ?
You might just need a new battery. When a battery is just about dead, it can make it appear that there’s something bigger going on. Think of how a new car acts when it needs a new battery. Lights will act funny or not work then stall but it will work once you jump it.. till you shut it down again. Maybe that’s what the external source is doing to make your book work. It’s helping it use less battery
