Help! My Mac is crashing during the startup. I’ve tried running disk utility - it says that disk utility cannot repair this disk. I’ve tried booting as a single user and running fsck -fy and still get a message that the hard drive can’t be repaired. Something about incorrect packet count wifi.log should have 124 but has 125. I don’t have a back up (bad.. I know). I’ve tried to go into disk utility to create an image of the disk on an external hard drive, and get an error message that An image cannot be created. Help! What should I do now? Is there any way to get my files? Is my hard drive fixable??
You’ll need to use a recovery program and an external drive to off load your files. I like this one ProSoft: Data Rescue 5
