hey folks, I was waiting a while for my replacement apple watch force touch gasket to come in (a screen protector had ripped my display off when trying to remove it, and torn one of the force touch gasket’s cables)… so when it finally came in, I jumped the gun and sealed everything up before testing (d’oh). Now I can’t for the life of me get the screen back off–a testament to iFixit’s replacement part, but I never had to do this before as the screen just popped off both of the last two times I tried to remove my tempered glass screen protectors. Help–I really don’t wanna break the screen but I still have no force touch and it’s driving me crazy…. I guess I didn’t seat the connector well enough. Any tips on getting display off without damaging it?
Hello, in behind every screen lies pile of glue so you need to heat your watch so glue is soft then with the IFIXIT iOpener toolkit pick blue guitar picks and slowly pop open your screen. (a lot of tutorials on youtube.com if needed) If this Answer helped you please rate it an mark the thread as solved so other people can find easier what they are looking for.
