I replaced the broken screen on the iPhone 8 Plus and everything looks great but now the home button isn’t working. I’m worried I may have damaged the ribbon cable getting it apart. Is it a lost cause or is it worth taking it apart again? I can sorta use the phone with the virtual home button, but it’s not ideal.
If the old screen still works try it on that one and see how it goes. Sometimes you can get replacement screens with defective interconnect ribbon cable to plug home button into.
if you have damaged the ribbon replacing the button will not work. u need a professional to change the chips on to a new ribbon if so. or maybe repair the lines on home button. make sure ur connection are connected good. logically when its damaged the assisitv touch will automatically turn on
