I replaced a cracked iPhone 7 Plus screen with an iFixIt replacement. Everything worked after putting phone back together. The next day the home button stopped working. I tore the phone back apart to check for a loose cable or if anything looked wrong. Everything seemed fine and put the phone together and everything worked. Now a day and a half later the home button stopped working again. Is this any issue with the replacement screen? I don’t think its a problem with the cables because it initially works.
Check with the new screen because sometimes that might be the cause, as the home button may not have been fully installed. A connection may have come loose, or the button has spun and a cable has snapped. If you had it done by a repair shop, get them to check it out. If not, open up the phone and see if anything is disconnected or loose.
