I recently replaced by home button with one from ifixit and installed it but touch id is not working. Is there a trouble shooting process I can go through?
No, you can never regain touch ID when buying a new homebutton. Only way to get a new Homebutton with Touch ID is going by Apple. They are the only one who can pair the new button to your motherboard.
You can only get back your click function by buying a new homebutton.
