How to solder the connector back to the motherboard, that holds the hard drive cable in place.? Or what do I need to do with the micro soldering.? When I replaced the hardrive cable, I noticed that connection square was gone. I found it still connected to the hard drive cable, but my husband wants to solder it back. How to ?
Tell your husband he’s not a brain surgeon! And likewise he doesn’t have the skills, tools & parts to re-solder the connector! Besides often when a connector is ripped off a logic board the copper traces often get damaged and may need micro soldering to reroute damaged lines and/or the connector is damaged as well. Time to find someone with the skills hopefully locally. Where do you live? nearest largest city. Maybe we can aim you to someone.
