The battery on my iphone 6 needs replacing. It is so bad that it will literally die within an hour of 100 percent charge. I took it to the apple store and they said they cannot service it unless I buy a new screen as mine is cracked. I find this pretty ridiculous. Replacing the battery will cost me the same as a decent android phone. The cracks are fairly small and located at the bottom corner. You can’t even tell it is cracked with the case on. Can I expect to be able to remove the screen to get to the battery?
Removing the cracked screen is fairly simple. What I usually do is take the two pentalobe P2 screws at the bottom near the charger port out then use the razor blade between the iPhone housing and the screen gap to pop the screen up easily on both sides. Then you can lift up the screen starting from the bottom as there is a hook clip at the top of the screen holding it in.
