A network update will not technically “boost” your service, but can ensure that you are hitting the correct towers in the correct order to receive the optimal cell signal for the specified area and will also reset the connection to the network to resolve any network “hiccups.” This can be done via the dial-pad by entering in “##UPDATE#” and hitting the dial button (depending on phone model)
