My air con, looks full of dust but manual says to have unit serviced. Can I take apart to give thorough clean? Want to avoid cost of call out which will be hundreds of dollars I can see the screws, but wondered if anyone else has tried this before I attempt it. Naturally I plan on disconnecting the power!
@charliemissy the main issue is always the dust and grime that builds up in between the fins of the condenser. If this space is clogged by dirt and grime, your fan can not force air across the condenser unit and it becomes less efficient. So cleaning the condenser unit will be a vital part of this. We will have to know what exact unit your AC is so that we can try and get you a more specific answer. It might also help if you post plenty of images of your AC with your question. that way we can see what you see. Use this guide for that.
