Well, I do have some good news! Most likely you don’t need a new logic board. as it turns out there are a few tantalum capacitors which wear-out from high heat as they are near the GPU logic which can get quite hot. You’ll need to send your logic board out to someone who knows about the issue and have them replaced with a better capacitor. Otherwise you can still find the logic boards on the open market. As to the reason the caps went you maybe pushing your system a bit hard. Laptops are not desktops and are not designed to run heavy graphical gaming which is often the reason why they fail. The age of the technology the system was designed with also plays a role here newer systems can handle more. I would recommend running a good thermal monitoring app like: TG Pro as it can help monitor your system so you know when you’re pushing it a bit too hard.
