A little over a week ago I was closing the Gallery app on my S7 Edge when the screen froze. It had never done that before. The screen was actually a mix of Gallery and the Main screen. Then it wouldn’t do anything. Just frozen. I turned the power off but it wouldn’t come back on again. I knew I hadn’t drained the battery because I was charging it at the time and my battery was on about 40%. I tried all of the boot combinations and the only one that did anything was the Volume Down and Power combo which SOMETIMES brings up the blue “RECOVERY BOOTING" message on the screen but then doesn’t do anything else. Since this message comes up doesn’t that mean my phone isn’t completely dead? Is there a way for me to get my data off the phone? I have over 5 years of pics, documents, notes, bookmarks, etc on this phone. Is there a hard drive or chip that can be removed to extract my data?
If you can’t unlock the phone, then try a hard reset on your google device by going to Find My Device and clicking on your phone and selecting ‘Erase all If’ If you can unlock your phone, go into settings and find the accounts section, you should find a setting that says ‘Format Device’ click on it and boom, your phone is erasing everything! If all of this fails, please refer to the user manual that came in the box or go on Samsung.com and find the virtual user manual.
