I use an app on Chrome to rapidly use text to speech. The app is “Sound Effects Board”. I’ve learned through the developer that the app pulls from the voices available on each individual computer it is installed on.
I used the stock google voice in the past for a project and desperately need to get it back. It is no longer on the list of my computer. A voice of the same name “Google US English” is there but it is a male voice. I was able to find two female voices offered by Google through extensions. US English Female TTS (by Google) is very close, but inflections are off and it does not function properly with pitch and rate settings.
I know the voice is out there, it used to be on my mac but is gone, probably because of a chrome update. I am able to hear it on my android phone when my text to speech is set to Google Text-to-speech Engine. Let me know if anyone can help. I know this is an odd request but I need the exact TTS voice i used before for my project. EDIT: I think that if I can locate the voice I will be able to use it. I simply cannot find the voice. ***IS it possible to download an old copy of Google Chrome and use it alongside my up to date version? I believe an update in Google Chrome is the culprit for the missing voice. I have an old computer that has not been updated aside from Google Chrome.
You’ll need to review the developer resources: Apple Speech servicesSpeech SynthesisNSSpeechSynthesizerNSSpeechRecognizer You may need to establish a Developer account so you can post a question with Apple no so much on the source of the TTS Voice but how to add a custom one. Once you know that you should be able to find the file if it’s still on your system or can import it.
