I would like to INCREASE the maximum oven temp from 465 F to 500 F. I have a gas unit. I have already stuffed up the oven vent in attempt to INCREASE the temp. It helps somewhat but I need to go higher to bake pizza
@ramses2 you really can’t. No matter who well you insulate it etc. it is your thermostat that turns it off at any time where it reaches the temperature. The only way to modify this is by changing the thermostat to one that has higher limits. Those are not easy to find since 475 Deg. F is the most common shut-off temp for the oven. so you would have to find one with higher limits and modify your oven. Problem here is that you have a gas oven and my concern is that this thing will become a fire/health hazard. I’d suggest that you purchase true pizza oven.
