My GBA SP can flip open, staying about 150 degrees. After I got a new shell, the screen part began to feel more heavy (loose and floppy to say the most) and doesn’t make that click sound whenever I open or close my gameboy. I figured it would be the hinges so I reopened my handheld and disassembled most of the parts to get to them. I fixed the hinges, but the screen half still flops; bypassing the 150 degree angle to 180 and still doesn’t do the clicking. I’ve done this numbers of times fixing them with no luck. I don’t understand where the problem lies whether I improperly repositioned the hinges or that they were very worn conditioned. :\

I never dissassembled one, but, you can try to rotate the hinges (if you can) 180 degrees, maybe is an issue of just tightening the screws a little more. Also could be the new shell, specially if its a cheapo one, are poor quality build, and most of the time will wobble and cause the problem, or if it’s used, could be broken as well…
