I cracked the topmost glass layer of my Surface Pro 4’s screen. The LCD and digitizer are undamaged and working perfectly. How can I just replace that top glass layer? I found $15 screen protectors made of glass, which I can use to replace the cracked layer. But I’m not sure how to peel the cracked layer off.
If you are fixing one glass only it is not worth. You need a hot plate and metal wire to remove the front glass, and optical clear adhesive to put a new glass on it. The “Glass” needs to have the digitizer (touch screen) atached it, a tempered glass or screen protector wont work. You need tools, screens for practice and hours of work.
