My IMac’s logic board has died. The folks at the Apple tech center suggested selling it to someone who enjoys working on this edition. How do I erase the hard drive? The tech said to “just take it out” but I figure a purchaser would like to have it. All the components are in very good condition.

if you have access to another computer, you can purchase a USB to SATA adapter (like this: http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Newer%20T… ) and reformat the drive (or keep as a backup of your data). If you don’t have such access, perhaps the tech you spoke with can assist?
