Model: LG 65" Class 4K Ultra HD LED Smart TV - 65UH615A - 350124 When I power on the tv, I can get sound and change channels but I am not able to see anything on the screen. This is the case for my HDMI tv channels as well as other HDMI ports (e.g., apple tv).
Hello, Have a peek through the small holes in the metal shielding to check in there is any backlight. If there is backlight, then the T-CON board is likely to be faulty. If there is not backlight, shine a strong flashlight very close to the screen and look very closely, you may be able to distinguish some picture. In that case, the backlight is at fault. With such symptoms, I would rule power supply and motherboard issues. Regards Michael
Hi, You may be able to fix it yourself if you have a DMM (digital multimeter) and know how to use it safely in areas where there is exposed lethal voltage. Not that you will be testing for these voltages it’s just that they are present on the power board which you need to test. Here’s a link to a service manual. Unfortunately I cannot find a free one online, but having the manual will certainly speed up the process of trying to determine what is wrong if there are no obvious signs of component damage etc. Usually service manuals have troubleshooting flowcharts describing various fault conditions e.g. No power or No Video, Audio OK etc. The better ones may even have a parts list. I don’t know what is in the one I’ve linked. As to getting it professionally repaired, search for authorized agents for LG TV repairs as they should have the experience with LG models and may already know of what the “common” failure is with your model, whereas other TV repair services may know how to fix TVs it but it may take longer because of lack of familiarity with the way LG TVs in particular work. Whichever option you decide check for reviews of the repairer(s) and also ask what guarantee they offer on their workmanship. Most reputable, professional repairers will offer some sort of guarantee e.g. 30 days.
