Chosen Solution

I have an old iPhone 5 that I started using as a back-up phone a couple of weeks back. Within a few days, the screen developed a thin black vertical-line on the right side of the screen. More lines showed up around it and the original line became thicker within a week. I’m not sure if these are dead-pixels or something else. Now a similar line has come-up on the left side of the screen as well. I haven’t dropped the phone, except once before the line showed up on the left side. How do I fix this? Will I have to replace the entire screen or is this just a loose digitizer connection at play? I don’t have the tools to open it and confirm anything, so whatever you suggest will require me to buy parts online. It’s a back-up phone, so I am looking for the cheapest solution possible. I’m also including pictures for your reference. Thanks!

Hello there. You are right with what you suspect the problem might be. Its either a loose connection or a LCD flex cables have been damaged. Opening tools for an iPhone are very very cheap. Have a look online and follow an fixit guide or youtube video on how to open the phone and remove the screen.
