PowerMac G4 dual drive I have an older PowerMac G4 (dual drive) and it just recently starting freezing at boot up to the grey screen with apple logo… Won’t go passed that. I tried zapping the pram, taking out the battery, (battery is back in), starting while holding shift key, option key but nothing works. Not sure how to start up from a disc since the disc drive wont pop open … how do I do that? Any suggestions how to boot up to desk top? Really really need to get some files off this drive that are not backed up :) Thanks in advanced! Brian
Try starting up holding down the mouse button to open the optical drive. I list your machine as a MDD as those were the only ones I can remember that had dual optical drives. Do you have a secondary boot hard drive?
