So two days ago I accidentally spilled some tea on my phone and some of it got into the charging port. I cleaned up but a few minutes later I tried charging it and it said that there was moisture/liquid inside the lightning connector. I then took my phone and placed it next to a fan at an angle that the port would directly get some air. I then let it dry overnight and charge wirelessly but when I woke up the phone would still detect liquid. I tried to dry it out with a fan again for a few hours but it still would not charge. After that I started to think the tea was sticky inside so I put a few drops of water and 70% isopropyl alcohol to see if that would work. I re-fanned it and still nothing. What should I do now and should I be worried ?
Try using some more isopropyl alcohol and use a toothbrush to scrub inside the port. If that doesn’t fix it, you’re looking at a charge port replacement. That’s something just about any repair shop can handle. Just make sure they’re using an OEM or premium port depending on their supplier. The X and above do not like aftermarket ports and will reboot constantly if you use an aftermarket port.
