I was replacing my screen on my ipod touch 4th generation. I realized that I had pulled my on/off flex cable to hard and I broke it. I have bought a new one and I am wondering how do i connect it to the connections on the main board? solder? adhesive?

u’ll hav to definitely solder it on, but first u have to remove the main board(pcb) to have enough room to do the job. remove the old on/off flex by unscrewing the 2 screws on the top right power button, reheat the flex for few seconds to remove it easily by heat gun and then remove the 3 screws on the volume button there u can take it off. replace the new on/off flex the same way. assemble the rest of the board and solder the flex. hope this will help.

well you definitely have to solder it on. I’m doing mine right now and I have to clear off the old solder and crap from the 4 solder points. However, they are super tiny so have a good soldering iron and and Exacto knife. Then you’ll have to resolder the new one onto the board.
