I bought a ibook g4 laptop on ebay, and it crashed a couple of days later. So i bought the software on ebay and when it says to click on the device that you want to install it on, nothing comes up. What should i do?
This means that it is not picking up your hard drive as a bootable volume. You need to look at the hard drive in disk utility and verify that A. the drive is show and B. repair the drive through the first aid function in disk utility. If the drive is not shown at all here then you will most likely need to check the connections to the hard drive or perhaps just replace the drive. Best Regards, Xen
From here you would proceed to reformat or repartition the drive. This will remove all of the data for the drives, so if you have anything to save on there attempt to back it up or look into data recovery. Then proceed to install the operating system.
