How do I remove the rubber strip that covers the mounting screws on the backcover on a HP Envy laptop without damaging it?

Hi @arwong Use tweezers etc to gently lift the rubber strip a few millimetres then peel the adhesive strip off the cover back as far as the rubber strip, attach it back onto rubber strip and continue lifting it slowly off with adhesive attached to rubber strip. Hopefully it won’t rip or break. if it does break or is damaged then it seems as though you cannot just buy the individual strips for your particular model range. Looking at the complete parts list for the 2 product versions, the part number Hardware Kit > 858700-001 - rubber base enclosure matches the part number for the strips as shown in the maintenance and service guide (see p.18 Item #27) but when searching online for the part number I can’t find any strips or if there was a result then it shows the complete base. Admittedly the manual is for models 15-as000 thru 15-as099 and not for your model, (I couldn’t find that one) but the parts I linked above supposedly are for your model
