I and trying to revive my iPhone and I was wondering how to remove the shroud that covers the A8 chip?
Andy Somsak that is an EMI shield and those are soldered. You can try to use a soldering iron to get this removed or use some small scissors to cut it away and solder the rest off. It requires a bit of practice but can be done. Some people prefer a hot air rework gun with a small nozzle to do that. I seem to always heat up to many other components with that…;-)
