The jack where I plug in the USB cable is loose and does not seat tightly to the case or when a cable is plugged in. Result is that camera is rarely detected when plugged into computer USB jack. Does the whole motherboard need to come out in order to fix?
Hi Robin, I think what you have is a USB port that got partly broken off the motherboard and hence the loose connection. If you are able to open your camera to expose the USB socket you will see the pins lifted off the board and/or having broken connection on some of the pins. If you have the tools (soldering iron and some solder), you could repair it yourself.
