I tore the power/volume cable while replacing the screen. I purchased the new cable and finished disassembly. While trying to reassemble, I peeled the protective covering off of the cable beneath the volume and lock components. When I press them to the bracket, the buttons and switch (the last step/first step in reassembly) will not stick. They pop off when trying to stick the next one on. Is there another adhesive I can apply to get them to stick that will not damage the cable?
Yes, that a common problem. You can use quality double sided tape, you could use a very small drop of supper glue if it’s the only alternative. But only a small amount that only covers the back, without it getting on the front or sides of the cable. Do one at a time and let dry before installing.
