the tri strike has a pin with orange knobs on either end. My son has taken the pin out detaching 1 knob. Once out he has put the knob back on but now he cannot remove the pin from the knobs and hence put it back in the gun.

The hammer does not work for me to remove the cross pin knobs that were stuck on before inserting them through the gun (bought the tribe strike at a thrift store). Any other suggestions?
