I have a first generation PS3 and there is no internet connection upon connecting an ethernet straight from my router. I have tried all troubleshooting of it being a router/internet issue. I believe the ethernet connector itself is loose or broken. I need a guide on how to replace the port. I tried local shops and they don’t know how to fix it.
You need to dismantle it to the logic board, then use a desoldering braid to remove the soldered connections of the ethernet jack, then put a new one in.
