How does an LED get “overstimulated/driven” causing purple patches on my 65in LG TV?

Robert Sedia, it doesn’t. All LED’s actually start out as blue and are being coated to create the white light. Sometimes these coatings fail and do come off. Age, heat etc. all play part of this. That potentially could leave a blue/purple light. We would need to see what your screen shows when it comes to these “purple spots”. So post some pictures of it with your QUESTION.Adding images to an existing question Also, let us knw the exact model of your LG TV If it is the LED’s then you will have to replace the backlight strips. For that you have to disassemble your TV and the complete panel. Not a terribly bad job but the bigger the TV is, the tougher the thin LCD screen gets to handle. You may need some other person to assist with that.
