Long story, but I bought a replacement battery from you a year or two ago and didn’t need to install it. I left it in the box. Then, my battery overcharged and pushed the screen out and so I replaced that battery with the one in the box. Phone will not turn on. Should I try another battery, or was my install bad?

Batteries will only last so long on a shelf if they aren’t used. What probably happened is it’s charge fell below the minimum required to charge in the phone. Unless you have a battery activation device, such as a kaisi battery tester/charger, the easiest thing would be to buy a new battery and try again.
